Wisconsin's lack of laws banning having sex with a corpse has freed 3 men who attempted to sexually assault the body of Laura Tennessen of attempted sexual assault charges. The Court of Appeals has dismissed attempted sexual assault charges against the three men, who attempted to dig up Laura Tennessen's dead body in order to have sex with it. On Sept. 2, Nicholas and Alexander Grunke, who are twin brothers, and Dustin Radke all went to the cemetery where Tennessen was buried to dig up her body. The cemetery was in Cassville, Wisconsin, and as the men were preparing to remove Tennessen's body from its resting place in order to have sex with it, someone in a vehicle saw them. The individual called police to report their suspicious behavior, and police subsequently caught the men soon after. The men learned of 20-year-old Tennessen when they saw her photo in her obituary. They decided they wanted to have sex with her dead body, but were fortunately caught and arrested before they were able to live out their sick fantasy. The men were charged with attempted third-degree sexual assault and misdemeanor attempted theft charges. Grant County Circuit Judge George Curry was forced to dismiss the sexual assault charges in Sept. after learning that there was no law in Wisconsin that bans necrophilia. AllHeadlineNews reports: 'Following the ruling, Wisconsin Sen. Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center) has introduced legislation that would make having sex with a corpse a felony, punishable by up to 6 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The bill, if passed, would punish any person who intentionally disturbs a burial site or a buried human corpse.'"
